Alright can somebody tell me what the hell twitter is for? i think not twitte is useless garbage used to keep the world's attention away from more important issues (like my blog lol).but really if you have a facebook than why use twitter the number one thing i hear is that its so great because its instant. Thats my number on COMPLAINT! how can you ever read all that shit if your following like 500,000 people you might catch a messege that you actually care about like once.........ever. plus facebook does what twitter does and 10x more shit so does myspace not to mention coutless other sites. i guess what im trying to say is "why twitter?" how did it get so popular so fast and why all of a sudden what do you think?
Sometimes simple is beautiful. It works for Google and it's working for Twitter. Plus, Twitter is an "open" social network, meaning everything is searchable, and it's easy to pick up on new conversations and new people.
ReplyDeleteFacebook on the other hand is a "closed" network, meaning you can only see the profiles of people you add. Facebook is good for keeping in touch with people you actually know, whereas Twitter is good for expanding your social network.
Plus, who would have 500k followers really? Unless you're Ashton Kutcher or Oprah, you should maintain a "healthy" number of followed people, so that you can actually get something out of the service. It's just like anything else in life. Moderation is the key.
I'll use an example. If you smoke one joint you might enjoy it right? If you smoke the whole fucking bush in one sitting you're just gonna get sick. You don't need a rule book or built in limitations to tell you that. You just know it and do it.
Oh, and just some tips for your blog.
ReplyDeleteDon't put your blog archive above your main post area. It already looks bad, and it will get worse as you make more blog entries.
You need to widen your sidebar column to accommodate those Maxim photos. The scroll-bars detract from the overall effect.

You need to learn how to use Twitter. 90% of your posts simply say "go to my blog at ninodasavage.blogspot.com" No one wants to read 7 posts in a row of that.
